Everything we're running, and how to join

Eight things over two years. All free. Four you come to in person, three you do online, one is a festival you should bring people to.

The Prague Forum: migrant women and Europe's scientific memory

A one-day forum at the Czech Technical University. Historians of science open with what the archives do and don't contain. Migrant women working in science today give their own testimony. Then young people take over for the roundtables — no polite panels, actual argument.

There's an archival poster walk you can wander through, pairing what the records say with what actually happened.
WHO IT'S FOR
Around 76 people: 56 young people aged 15–25, plus 20 teachers, youth workers and museum staff.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
Recordings of the talks, the poster set and a short report — enough to run the day again at your school.

The Archive Lab: how to find someone history left out

A hands-on day with real material — university enrolment registers, scientific journals, personal correspondence. You'll learn how archives get biased in the first place, how to read what isn't there, and how to record an oral history properly.

Halfway through we do a then-and-now exercise: put a 1930s enrolment register next to current figures on women in science and see how much has really changed.
WHO IT'S FOR
Young people, teachers, archivists and early-career researchers. No experience needed.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
More than 30 short life stories written up by the group, published free and translated into Czech, Portuguese, Greek and Danish.

From History to Policy: why remember these women?

A one-day seminar that puts young people, teachers and policymakers around the same table. What does a chemist pushed out of her lab in 1938 have to do with a qualified engineer stacking shelves in 2026? Quite a lot, as it turns out.

Keynotes, one big roundtable, then mixed breakout groups where nobody gets to only talk to people who agree with them.
WHO IT'S FOR
At least 51 people: young people, educators, equality bodies, ministries and EU-level organisations.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A briefing beforehand, then reflection notes and recommendations that go to equality bodies and ministries.

Inspiring Stories: discovering Europe's forgotten women in science

Six to eight short lessons, about ninety minutes in total, designed for a phone. Meet more than twenty women whose work was written out, see the archive fragments for yourself, and try a few quizzes and reflection tasks along the way.

Finish it and you get a digital badge for your CV or profile. Each lesson has an optional note for teachers if you want to use it with a class.
WHO IT'S FOR
Anyone aged 15–25, plus teachers and youth workers. In English, Czech, Portuguese and Greek.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A digital badge — and captions, transcripts, alt text and easy-read summaries throughout, so it works for everyone.

The Storytelling Lab: make a podcast, a film or an exhibition

Live online sessions teaching the practical stuff — scripting, audio and video editing, and the ethics of telling someone else's story. You work in mixed groups with people from other countries.

By the end the group produces at least ten finished pieces about the struggles and the stubbornness of migrant women in science. They're tested with real audiences in schools, youth centres and cultural venues, then published for anyone to use.
WHO IT'S FOR
101 places, open to young people, educators, cultural workers and policymakers.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A finished piece of work with your name on it, and a facilitation guide so you can run the workshop yourself.

Month 16

Role Models Across Generations: a day in Lisbon

Fifty-six schoolgirls, twenty teachers, and women scientists — migrant and non-migrant — who've built careers across borders. It opens with a talk on brain waste: what happens to a country when it ignores the qualifications people arrive with.

Then small dialogue circles, where a fifteen-year-old can ask a senior researcher the questions that actually matter. Everyone ends by writing a Letter to the Future, and we keep them.
WHO IT'S FOR
Schoolgirls, their teachers, and women working in STEM today. Nobody is asked to share more than they want to.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A dialogue guide so any school or youth centre can run the same day themselves.

07

Online course
From month 18
Free

Teaching Forgotten Pioneers: a course for educators

Eight to ten modules, about an hour altogether, for teachers, youth workers and people working in migrant support. Practical ways to get these women into a science lesson without it feeling bolted on: lesson scenarios, archive analysis exercises, oral history prompts and adaptable lesson flows.

There's a facilitator track too, if you'd rather run sessions with your own group than work through it alone, including peer-to-peer exercises you can lead.
WHO IT'S FOR
At least 101 educators, youth workers and cultural practitioners across ten or more countries.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A classroom integration guide, an oral history toolkit, and a digital badge.

Month 22

The Festival of Memory and Science

The big finish, run by the Melissa Network in Athens. Pop-up exhibitions, storytelling installations, performances and open dialogue forums — all of it made with migrant and refugee women, young people and teachers rather than for them.

Displays pair the pioneers we recovered with the lives of women doing science and moving countries right now. Bring your family, your class, your colleagues.
WHO IT'S FOR
Everyone. At least 101 people take part in making it.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A multilingual digital catalogue of the whole festival — photos, transcripts, objects and the stories behind them — so other cities can stage their own.
